Vaka Security was founded by Tafihi and Dina Vaka with a shared vision to raise the standard of security across Northland through professionalism, strong presence, and purpose-led service. After relocating from Auckland to Dina’s hometown of Whangārei, they saw the need for a security company that not only protects but truly connects with the people and communities it serves. A service grounded in cultural understanding, respect, and trust.
Dina brings valuable experience from her years with the New Zealand Police, where she worked across frontline, investigative, and specialist roles in West Auckland. Her background provides deep insight into risk assessment, crisis response, and public safety. This knowledge now shapes the structure, training, and strategic direction of Vaka Security.
Tafihi complements this with hands-on experience in the security industry, having worked across various roles that demanded strong situational awareness, leadership, and team management. His operational knowledge ensures that Vaka Security delivers practical, high-quality service with consistency and professionalism. Together, Tafihi and Dina bring a balance of strategic oversight and day-to-day operational insight, working side by side to guide the growth of the company.
